Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Product Owner in an agile team (e.g. participate in standups, sprint planning, retros) for multiple plugins including popular plugins like Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and WP Migrate.
  • Own and maintain the product backlog for assigned plugins
  • Write clear, actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical context where needed
  • Prioritise backlog based on business goals, customer feedback, and tech constraints
  • Collaborate with the Plugins Lead to break down roadmap initiatives into executable features
  • Align sprint goals with plugin business goals and customer outcomes
  • Ensure features are shipped on time and meet the acceptance criteria
  • Work closely with plugin engineers to clarify requirements and unblock progress
  • Facilitate tight feedback loops between engineers, designers, and support teams
  • Provide ongoing product direction during development and testing
  • Customer & Data Insight
  • Gather and synthesise customer feedback, bug reports, and support trends
  • Maintain product ideas board to collect customer feedback and track demand for features
  • Manage various public feedback forums
  • Conduct customer discovery calls to gain insight into customer usage and pain points
  • Technical Awareness
  • Maintain a basic understanding of plugin architectures and integration considerations
  • Translate non-technical needs into structured requirements that engineers can build against

Skills & Experience:

  • 2–4 years experience in product management or technical product ownership, ideally with WordPress plugins or SaaS integrations
  • Comfortable working in an agile development environment
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Analytical mindset, able to prioritize based on data and impact
  • Experience writing user stories, specs, and managing backlogs
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Linear, or Shortcut; and collaborative tools like Miro, Figma, Slack
