We seek a highly motivated Portfolio Success Manager to discover strategic challenges and opportunities across Toyota and the broader Toyota group companies, identify synergies with startups, and facilitate engagements that unlock commercial value. Working at the intersection of venture capital and corporate innovation, you'll support the investment team on select opportunities while acting as a catalyst for collaboration.

Key Responsibilities- Advocate for portfolio companies within Toyota, connecting them with relevant stakeholders, potential customers, and business development opportunities.
- Drive collaboration between portfolio companies and Toyota business units, including initial facilitation, problem solving, and/or active cross‑functional project management.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with Toyota executives and business/technical teams, as well as with the leadership of the portfolio companies, fostering trust, collaboration, and long‑term partnerships.
- Collaborate with various Toyota business units teams to understand their current innovation efforts, strategic priorities, and areas for external collaboration, including supporting business development functions as needed.
- Conduct in‑depth market research, analyze industry trends, perform competitive analysis, and synthesize stakeholder insights to inform investment decisions, advise Toyota teams, and portfolio company strategies.
- Identify and present relevant startup investment opportunities to Toyota business units, highlighting potential synergies, and value creation, and pilot opportunities.
- Engage subject matter experts within Toyota to gather feedback on presented opportunities, foster discussions, and identify potential partnerships and pilots.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) of portfolio companies, monitor progress toward strategic goals, and report findings to both the portfolio companies and internal stakeholders.
- Own and execute projects end‑to‑end, demonstrating strong initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality results in a fast‑paced environment.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, corporate development, or management consulting, demonstrating strong commercial acumen and strategic judgment. Prior experience in venture capital or high‑growth startups is a plus.
- Familiarity with the automotive, industrial, or manufacturing sector is a plus.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence diverse stakeholders, from startup leadership to senior executives.
- Strong business acumen with experience evaluating priorities, impact, trade‑offs, and risks.
- Demonstrated understanding of the startup lifecycle and the challenges faced by early and growth‑stage companies.
- Strong analytical abilities, including market research, financial modeling, competitive analysis and the capacity to synthesize complex information into actionable insights and reports.
- Proven execution skills, with a track record of taking full ownership of projects, driving them to successful completion, and adapting to evolving priorities in a dynamic setting.
