A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FOOD & BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR AT OUR HOTEL Working Pattern for a Breakfast Supervisor at Wotton House: Monday- Friday Morning shifts, enjoy your evenings off!
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the breakfast F&B team with a positive, energetic approach, creating a welcoming and relaxed morning atmosphere for all hotel guests.
- Oversee the full breakfast shift from early‑morning setup to close down, ensuring tables, buffet stations, coffee areas, and service sections are fully prepared and presented to hotel standards.
- Supervise the daily breakfast operation, making sure guest seating, orders, buffet replenishment, and hot food service run smoothly and efficiently during busy morning periods.
- Support, coach, and guide team members on shift, assisting with training, new starter induction, and maintaining high service standards at all times.
- Take the lead in guest interaction, confidently handling requests, dietary requirements, complaints, and special occasions in a calm and professional manner.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate timings for hot breakfast items, buffet refills, and room service orders, ensuring food is fresh, well presented, and served promptly.
- Liaise with the bar / beverage station to ensure tea, coffee, juices, and continental items are fully stocked and available throughout service.
- Monitor stock levels of breakfast food, beverages, crockery, cutlery, and service items, reporting shortages and assisting with ordering when required.
- Assist with rotas and shift planning for the breakfast team, ensuring adequate staffing levels for occupancy, events, and busy weekends.
- Complete all opening and closing procedures, including setting up service areas, checking equipment, and ensuring the restaurant is clean and ready for the next service.
- Maintain excellent cleanliness and organisation across the restaurant, buffet, and back‑of‑house areas, ensuring full compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and hotel policies.
- Ensure all guests receive friendly, efficient, and professional service, helping create a positive start to their day and reflecting the high standards expected at Wotton House Hotel.
- Support the Restaurant / F&B Manager with daily reporting, shift communication, and continuous improvement of the breakfast service.
