Weighbridge Operative
Salary £26,000 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours 40 hours per week, 7.00am to 4.00pm
Location Postcode Skelbrooke, DN6 8LY
As a Weighbridge Operative, you will provide a helpful, courteous and professional service to FCC customers. You will operate the weighbridge in accordance with the Environmental Permit, Planning Permission, Government legislation, FCC Group policies, along with any schemes or initiatives brought in by FCC.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week, Monday to Friday.

What will you be doing?
- Keep the site safe by ensuring all users follow FCC Health & Safety procedures
- Accurately record all weighbridge transactions on time
- Support colleagues with day-to-day site activities
- Welcome and brief visitors, contractors and drivers issuing rules and recording details
- Direct vehicles, offer PPE reminders and provide clear customer guidance
- Spot and report any safety breaches or near misses
- Provide occasional cover at other FCC weighbridge sites
- Work with permits, risk assessments, COSHH and other key safety documents
- Take and record soil samples, arranging collection for lab testing

- Experienced in customer-facing roles and able to provide a friendly, professional service at all times
- Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Comfortable working independently and able to use their initiative
- Highly reliable and punctual, with a strong commitment to health and safety
- Willing to take on varied tasks at short notice and adapt to changing priorities
- Detail-focused, ensuring accurate records and paperwork are maintained
- Able to communicate clearly and courteously with colleagues, contractors and customers
