Site Manager

Salary: Circa £42,000 (plus Company Vehicle/Car Allowance, laptop & phone)

Hours: 47.5 hours per week, 7.00am to 5.30pm with some weekend cover required

Location: HU10 6TS

As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance to PAS 100, ABPR, CMS and all relevant BSI schemes. You will manage a busy and successful composting business.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, with the site operational 7 days per week, with additional hours as required.

What will you be doing?

  • The operation of the site ensuring all operations, staff, site visitors and daily interactions howsoever, are managed in accordance with all regulatory requirements
  • Working with the Operations Manager to meet financial targets set out in budgets and five-year business plan
  • Support the development of business strategy and policies for the Waste & Recycling business unit to align with business needs, comply with requirements and reflect current waste management best practice
  • Support the development of plans for a growth strategy for the Recycling business unit including customer retention and relationship management
  • Promotion/representation of the business to the industry, industry media and wider community
  • Create positive and effective working relationships with colleagues in the Waste & Recycling business
  • To ensure that the Company pursues best practice regarding its policies, procedures and legislative compliance within an open and empowered culture

What are we looking for?

  • Experience of working within the waste management sector at supervisory level or above, with demonstrable record of working with Local Government and Regulatory Authorities
  • Proficiency in the understanding and application of all aspects of a contract including but not limited to key performance indicators, performance management frameworks, legal and commercial documentation
  • Highly numerate and IT literate, with the ability to use management information effectively and in the context of legal agreements, commercial arrangements
  • Relevant management/engineering qualifications
  • Industry qualifications/experience
  • Expertise in waste management operations developments and emerging best practice
  • Knowledge of SCADA system
