WAVE is currently looking for a Machinist and Tool and Die Makers to join our team! Worthington Armstrong Venture (WAVE) has established worldwide leadership in the production of suspended ceiling systems. The WAVE, Aberdeen MD facility produces metal ceiling grids that can be combined with Armstrong products to provide ceiling solutions to our customers.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: We have openings for our afternoon and night shifts. We offer 10 hour shifts (Monday through Thursday) or 8 hour shifts (Monday through Friday). Some overtime may be required.

Compensation: WAVE offers competitive wages and a comprehensive benefit package that includes, but is not limited to; health, dental and life insurances, vacation, quarterly profit sharing, and a 401(k) Plan. Salary is based on an applicant's knowledge and experience in their field of expertise. Base starting salary is over $75K a year, without overtime, and will be higher for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities for Machinist and Tool and Die Makers:

  • Perform all work in a safe manner; wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and make certain that all safety equipment is in proper working order.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair press tooling in a production manufacturing environment.
  • Safely and efficiently manufacture new and/or replacement tooling components from detailed part drawings and/or verbal instructions using a variety of manual machine shop equipment (Vertical "Bridgeport style" Mills, Surface Grinders, Welders, Hone, Drill Press, hydraulic press, etc.)
  • Use precision measuring tools to measure and manufacture parts to exact specifications for tooling.
  • Use CMMS system for accurate tooling maintenance record keeping.
  • Able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years or more of machine shop experience in an industrial manufacturing environment working with manual machines (mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders etc.)
  • Previous Tool & Die repair experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
