Worthing College, part of the Chichester College Group, is recruiting a Teacher to deliver Mechanical Engineering and/or Electronics as part of our vibrant faculty and help shape our students' future careers. As one of our STEM Engineering experts, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality teaching and training to our motivated students. Your expertise and enthusiasm will ignite their passion for Engineering, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in this dynamic and evolving industry.

You will be joining our team at an exciting time, as we open our brand-new STEM facility at Worthing College. This includes a bespoke teaching and learning environment designed and built to match the cutting-edge technology in industry and will support outstanding teaching and learning.

In This Position, You Will:

  • Deliver and assess specialist units in Level 2 City & Guilds and Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma, depending on your Engineering specialism.

Required:

  • Alongside general Engineering Principles and Mathematics units, for Mechanical engineers, this would include Fabrication, CAD, manual machining (lathe and milling), hand fitting, and workshop-based manufacturing processes.
  • For Electronic engineers, you can expect to teach Electronic Devices, Measurement and Testing and Microcontrollers.
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and engaging teaching materials to support student learning.
  • Monitor learner progress, set meaningful targets and provide high-quality bespoke support.

You Will Also Be Responsible For:

  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards and college policies.
  • Contributing to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A degree, apprenticeship, or industrial experience in Mechanical Engineering and/or electrical engineering.
  • Proven track record of outstanding learner outcomes.
  • Experience in teaching and assessment within Further/Higher Education, especially BTEC National Extended Diploma and Level 2 City & Guilds.

This role is a permanent post with an immediate start, if possible. Exact teaching hours and start dates can be discussed at interview.
