Maintenance Assistant
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our dedicated Maintenance Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, reliable, and motivated individual to support the smooth operation and upkeep of our school estate.
Working as part of the Buildings and Maintenance team, you will assist with a variety of maintenance tasks across the site, helping to ensure that our facilities remain safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose.
Due to our rural location, reliable transport is essential
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will
- Respond to maintenance requests via the helpdesk as directed by the Maintenance Team Leader.
- Carry out routine health and safety checks, including fire alarm testing and participation in the fire response team.
- Support the maintenance team in keeping workshops and work areas clean, organised, and safe.
- Complete all required training relating to health and safety, equipment use, and safeguarding.
- Conduct pre-use equipment checks as required.
- Undertake painting and general routine maintenance tasks across the site.
- Drive and refuel school vehicles when necessary.
- Collect materials and supplies from off-site suppliers.
- Accompany contractors and visiting personnel as required.
- Attend staff and operational meetings when necessary.
