A Head of Delivery is required to lead the operational delivery of housing refurbishment and construction programmes within a public-sector partnership environment. This senior leadership position oversees multiple projects across a growing delivery pipeline, ensuring programmes are delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard. The role leads operational teams including Contracts Managers, Site Managers and quality functions, while maintaining strong programme governance, delivery oversight and performance management. Working closely with senior leadership and partnership teams, the Head of Delivery ensures that programme commitments translate into consistent, high-quality delivery across multiple sites and workstreams.
What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities):
- Lead the delivery of housing refurbishment and construction programmes across multiple sites
- Provide leadership and oversight to Contracts Managers, Site Managers and delivery teams
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme standards
- Maintain strong programme governance, operational discipline and reporting structures
- Monitor programme performance, delivery milestones and contractual commitments
- Manage delivery risks, programme planning and operational resources
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and statutory requirements
- Support collaboration between delivery, partnerships and senior leadership teams
- Maintain clear reporting on programme performance, risks and delivery progress
What We're Looking For (Skills & Experience):
- Significant experience leading construction or housing refurbishment delivery programmes
- Proven track record managing multiple concurrent projects across multiple sites
- Experience leading Contracts Managers, Site Managers and operational delivery teams
- Strong understanding of construction compliance, programme governance and health and safety standards
- Experience delivering programmes within housing, regeneration or construction environments
- Experience working with local authorities, housing associations or public-sector frameworks is advantageous
- Strong leadership capability with a structured and disciplined approach to operational management
- Ability to manage programme risk, delivery performance and operational planning
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to build effective delivery teams and maintain consistent operational performance
