An established independent property group based in St Albans is seeking an experienced Part-Time Sales & Lettings Compliance Manager to oversee regulatory compliance across its sales, lettings and property management operations. This role offers the opportunity to influence business-wide standards and support ongoing compliance excellence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a robust compliance framework covering areas such as Anti-Money Laundering (AML), GDPR, complaint handling, Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), and property management legislation. Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, the role will provide oversight, reporting, training and guidance to ensure regulatory obligations are consistently met across all branches and departments.

What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities) as a Compliance Manager:

  • Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive compliance and risk management framework across sales, lettings and property management functions
  • Oversee AML, GDPR and DSAR processes, ensuring legislative requirements are consistently met and risks effectively managed
  • Manage and facilitate complaint investigations and resolutions, ensuring adherence to regulatory timescales and internal procedures
  • Monitor property management compliance requirements, including certification obligations such as Gas Safety, EICR and EPC regulations
  • Design and deliver compliance reporting, quality assurance reviews and risk metrics for senior management and branch teams
  • Create and coordinate compliance training programmes, regulatory procedures and process improvements across the business

  • Previous experience in a Compliance Manager, Risk Manager or Regulatory Compliance role
  • Strong knowledge of AML regulations, GDPR and Data Protection legislation
  • Experience handling DSARs and complaint management processes
  • Understanding of property sales, lettings and property management compliance requirements
  • Ability to develop policies, procedures, controls and monitoring frameworks
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, integrity and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
