Experienced Head of Property Management required to oversee a residential Property Management Team, and manage a portfolio across the South East London area: managing compliance, maintenance and team performance while ensuring excellent service for landlords and tenants.
Our client, an independent Estate and Lettings Agency based in South East London, is seeking an experienced Head of Property Management to lead and oversee their residential property management department. This is a senior role reporting to the Company Directors and responsible for supervising the day-to-day management of a residential lettings team while ensuring compliance, service standards and operational efficiency across the department.
The successful candidate will be confident managing people, systems and processes, as well as maintaining strong relationships with landlords, tenants and contractors.
What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities):
- Leading and overseeing the property management department
- Supervising and supporting property management staff
- Managing and monitoring a residential lettings portfolio
- Ensuring all properties remain compliant with current lettings legislation
- Overseeing maintenance coordination and contractor performance
- Handling complex landlord and tenant issues when required
- Monitoring Gas Safety, Electrical Safety and other compliance requirements
- Ensuring tenancy deposits are managed correctly and in line with regulations
- Managing notices including Section 8 and Section 21 where necessary
- Maintaining accurate property and tenancy records
- Reviewing processes to maintain high service standards
What We're Looking For (Skills & Experience):
- Significant experience in residential property management
- Previous experience supervising or managing a team
- Strong knowledge of lettings legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience managing maintenance processes and contractor relationships
- Confident dealing with landlords, tenants and complex issues
- Highly organised with strong administrative skills
- Professional communication and customer service abilities
- Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and oversee multiple properties
- Full UK driving licence preferred
