Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Accounts Assistant to support the financial operations of their growing Social Housing practice. This role is ideal for an organised and detail-oriented individual with previous legal finance or accounts experience looking to further develop their career.
Working closely with the finance team and operational departments, you will play a key role in managing client and office accounts, ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules, and supporting month-end financial processes. This varied position offers the opportunity to contribute to a professional and collaborative environment while supporting the smooth running of a busy conveyancing-focused legal practice.

What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities):
- Managing daily client account transactions in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules
- Performing client and office account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Processing client billing, completion statements, transfers and financial transactions
- Supporting office accounts, supplier payments, expenses and month-end finance processes
- Assisting with compliance, audits and financial reporting requirements
- Working closely with conveyancing and operational teams to support client matters and finance-related queries
What our client is looking for (Skills & Experience):
- Previous experience within legal accounts, finance, bookkeeping or a similar role
- Working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite
- Experience using legal accounting software, Xero or QuickBooks would be advantageous
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams
- Proactive, reliable and capable of managing workloads in a fast-paced environment
