Experienced Service Charge Accountant is required for an independent property company in the London Edgware area. Previous experience in managing property portfolio accounts is essential. A busy independent property company with a strong lettings and management portfolio in the Edgware area is seeking a skilled Service Charge Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Manager and take responsibility for preparing, maintaining, and managing service charge accounts across a diverse residential portfolio. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a solid understanding of property management accounting, budgeting, and client reporting.

What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities):

  • Preparing and maintaining accurate service charge accounts for managed properties
  • Producing income and expenditure reports and reconciliation statements
  • Assisting with annual budgets, forecasting, and year-end accounts preparation
  • Liaising with property managers, landlords, and tenants regarding accounts and queries
  • Ensuring all financial records comply with current legislation and company procedures
  • Maintaining accuracy and consistency across property management systems (preferably Qube)
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with financial reporting and audits
