A Head of Block Management Accounts is required to lead the accounts function within a specialist residential property management business in the Bromley area. This is a key role overseeing the financial management of a varied residential block portfolio. Previous experience in Block Management Accounts and in team management is essential.
The successful candidate will preferably have a recognised accountancy qualification but previous strong property industry experience, ideally within block or service charge accounting is essential. You’ll take ownership of financial processes, lead the accounting function and work closely with the wider property management team. This is an office-based role – Candidates seeking remote roles or without property management experience will not be considered.

What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)
- Lead and oversee the block management accounts function
- Manage the preparation of service charge budgets, accounts and financial reports
- Oversee reconciliations, expenditure, payments and financial controls across the portfolio
- Review and monitor the accuracy of service charge and property accounting
- Support property managers with complex financial queries and client reporting
- Lead year-end accounting processes, audits and statutory reporting requirements
What our client is looking for (Skills & Experience)
- Fully qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification essential
- Significant property accounting experience within the residential sector
- Strong knowledge of service charge and block management accounting
- Proven experience overseeing service charge budgets and year-end accounts
- Experience managing or mentoring an accounts team
- Strong understanding of leasehold and residential property legislation
- Excellent Excel and accounting systems knowledge
- Highly organised, commercially aware and confident communicating with clients and senior stakeholders
