A leading independent estate agency in Essex is seeking an experienced Assistant Lettings Manager to join its successful Upminster branch. This role is ideal for a driven property professional with a proven track record in winning instructions and delivering exceptional customer service.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of a busy lettings branch, assisting with business generation, landlord and tenant management, and helping to drive the continued growth of the lettings department. Working within a highly regarded brand, you will utilise your local market knowledge, customer service skills and leadership abilities to maximise opportunities, support the team in achieving targets and deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout the lettings process.

What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities):
- Assist in the day-to-day management and performance of the lettings department
- Generate new business opportunities and secure property instructions from landlords
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, tenants and prospective clients
- Support negotiators in achieving individual and team targets through coaching and guidance
- Negotiate tenancy terms and progress lets through to successful completion
- Ensure exceptional levels of customer service while maintaining compliance with current lettings legislation and industry regulations
- Support the Lettings Manager in driving branch performance and achieving business objectives

- Previous experience as an Assistant Lettings Manager, Senior Lettings Negotiator, Lettings Valuer or similar role within residential lettings
- Proven track record of generating new business and winning instructions
- Strong knowledge of the Chelmsford and wider Essex lettings market
- Excellent valuation, negotiation and customer service skills
- Ability to build credibility and rapport with landlords, tenants and clients at all levels
- Results-driven with a commercial and target-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Professional, motivated and capable of working effectively within a fast-paced environment
