General Purpose of Role
Senior-level lawyer with substantial relevant experience, knowledge and skill in reviewing, drafting and negotiating large complex contracts and providing support, post award and in general commercial legal or other assigned legal fields. Supervises, trains, coaches, and mentors more junior attorneys in the EMEA region, or within the wider company, in matters of their specific knowledge and/or experience; and reviews the work product of outside law firms. May lead a team of direct reports (regularly hosts meetings, sets team goals, etc.) consisting of Legal Counsels, Associate General Counsels and Senior Associate General Counsels, with the objective of expediting their upskilling and training as Worley lawyers so that they can handle broader and more complex contract and legal matters. Responsible for the management, mentorship, training and professional development of their direct reports.
Collaborates closely with senior leadership, regional generalist attorneys, CoE teams, MPP/strategic teams, and cross-functional teams to manage legal risk, support business objectives, and build legal capability across the region. As Legal lead and business partner for a Global Operations SVP, advises on complex projects capture and execution teams on contractual and other legal risks and issues by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating relevant contracts, and by providing legal guidance on change management, commercial matters, and potential claims or disputes with customers and third parties. Serves as an active member of a Working Group and encourages team members to actively participate in relevant Working Groups to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development. Leads with a positive, collaborative mindset, mentoring and developing high performance talent and fostering a culture of engagement and accountability. Actively champions high impact projects and cross-functional initiatives that align with organizational strategy and deliver measurable outcomes.
Typical Qualifications
- Preferred 10+ years of relevant experience, in-house experience preferred.
- Experience in a global or matrixed organization preferred.
- Experience with legal systems, technology tools, and AI.
