Role Context:
As the Location Manager of Engineering for Glasgow and Aberdeen, you will be directly involved in delivering engineering leadership on innovative energy transition projects from FEED through construction & commissioning. You’ll oversee a multidiscipline engineering team, supported by a strong group of project-based engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Report to the UK Manager of Engineering, overseeing engineering delivery across all projects in Aberdeen and Glasgow.
- Act as line manager for all Project Engineering Managers (PEMs) in Aberdeen and Glasgow.
- Coordinate recruitment for PEMs in Aberdeen and Glasgow.
- Ensure Glasgow and Aberdeen projects are appropriately resourced through daily interaction with local engineering discipline focal points.
- Create strong working relationships with UK Engineering Department Managers.
- Resolve any problems with engineering delivery on Glasgow and Aberdeen projects.
- Assist the sales team as necessary with proposals for Glasgow and Aberdeen projects.
- Promote and oversee the use of the Worley Knowledge System, Management System, and SEAL framework on Glasgow and Aberdeen projects.
- Lead engineering-specific initiatives to increase the level of work being done with Worley’s Global Integrated Delivery (GID) offices in India.
Qualifications:
- Extensive major EPC & EPCM project experience, in addition to experience in transitioning from FEED to EPCM.
- Experience in effectively leading a large engineering task force.
- Experience of working with high-value engineering centres.
- Experience successfully engaging with client executives, senior management and other key stakeholders.
- Understanding of and ability to apply Advanced Word Pack principles.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, robust project control systems and processes.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and ensure engineering solutions are market-leading.
- A motivational leadership style and strong communication skills, with an ability to develop a high-performing culture.
- A network of high-level key client contacts and industry bodies.
- A degree and chartered status.
