This role exists to implement strategic initiatives, drive cultural transformation, and ensure organizational excellence delivering our Projects and Services. It plays a critical part in facilitating change that builds a strong Quality culture across the sub‑region and locations, enabling flawless and consistent execution of Projects and delivery of Services.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Worley Standards are fully understood and integrated into project quality plans through quality planning and implementation of quality activities, ensuring customer expectations are embedded into project quality programs.
  • Represent the voice of the customer in all quality‑related matters across the sub‑region operations and projects, leading resolution of customer quality concerns, non‑conformances, and audit findings in a timely and transparent manner.
  • Build strong relationships with project stakeholders, including customer quality leaders, third‑party inspectors/auditors, and project delivery teams on mega and large projects, while maintaining governance for medium and small projects.
  • Provide input to operations and design location quality strategy and annual plan, ensuring global and regional quality initiatives are effectively embraced at the sub‑region and location level.
  • Check consistency in quality execution across all projects and fabrication yards, taking action to improve the approach where necessary and escalating to location management and sub‑regional leadership as required.
  • Coordinate with the Regional Head of Quality on MPP resource needs and ensure operations and projects are supported by competent and experienced quality professionals.
  • Responsible overall for quality assurance and quality control functional activities in the UK business, defining the necessary QA and QC organisation and resourcing requirements.
  • Accountable for identifying UK regulatory obligations, planning and executing sufficient activities and oversight to ensure controls remain effective.
  • Responsible for developing and keeping current the UK audit program that sustains business compliance and supports global audit program planning and execution, actively managing effective implementation of corrective actions raised in audits to maintain compliance audit readiness.
  • Support the location and projects in developing project quality planning and checking the effectiveness of execution team implementation in project execution strategies.
  • Ensure implementation of performance metrics and KPIs for the quality function and quality‑specific aspects of operations and projects.
  • Collate and report location quality performance metrics and KPIs, identifying trends and implementing measures to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership insight to the overall quality performance of locations across the sub‑region, working with the Regional Director to consolidate the sub‑regional roll‑up report into the regional management review report.
  • Manage quality‑related costs through proactive issue prevention and lean practices, ensuring quality resourcing is fully funded at the location and on projects through billable means.
  • Implement continual improvement initiatives gathered from projects and transform learnings into project delivery execution improvements, seeking Regional Director support on mega and large projects.
  • Establish and lead a high‑performing quality team across the locations in the sub‑region, fostering collaboration and continuous development.
  • Promote cross‑functional teamwork between quality, engineering, procurement, construction and other functional support teams to deliver projects.

Accreditations (Essential)

  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent auditor training, with evidence of context, methodology of training and practical implementation.

Experience

  • Several years at senior management level leading quality teams across a portfolio of detailed design and EPC projects, within oil & gas, renewables, construction or a relatable field.
  • Interface skills to engage with customer quality representatives
  • Cross‑sector experience and ability to collaborate with other function leaders.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of UK business including regulatory frameworks and managing the interface with UK regulators and other statutory bodies.

  • Experience with quality and compliance auditing.

Strategic

  • Define location quality objectives aligned with global‑regional strategy.
  • Approve GO mega and large project quality plans and resource allocations.

Operational

  • Resolve escalated quality issues and non‑conformances.
  • Prioritise quality improvement initiatives across locations and projects.
  • Provide input on approval decisions for deviations, NCRs, and quality waivers.
  • Endorse and ensure implementation of approved regional and MPP quality plans.
  • Escalate deviations, waivers, and risk decisions beyond delegated authority to Regional Head.
  • High level of autonomy in operational decisions; strategic decisions made in collaboration with quality leadership and project directors. Accountability to operational leadership and project sponsors.
