The UK Nuclear Sector Lead is accountable for leading Worley’s market position, growth strategy, client engagement, and capture activity across the UK nuclear sector. The role requires a highly credible industry leader with deep relationships across government, the Office for Nuclear Regulation, operators, technology vendors, and delivery partners, together with a proven track record of originating, securing, and supporting delivery of major nuclear programmes.
The individual will serve as the senior nuclear market lead for the UK, working across Operations, Sector and Business Development leadership to shape market strategy, open executive-level relationships, guide priority pursuits, and provide continuity from opportunity development into delivery.
You’ll Do/Carry Out:
- Lead the development and implementation of Worley’s Nuclear strategy in the UK.
- Accountable for sector-level revenue growth, pipeline development and positioning.
- Identify, position and secure growth opportunities across civil nuclear including new build, AMR / SMR developments, established fleet frameworks and related infrastructure.
- Leverage existing relationships to build partnerships with competitors, contractors and other existing nuclear market leaders to secure UK opportunities.
- Support the business by identifying, framing, capturing and assisting in the delivery of projects and partnerships across the sector - at all scales of complexity.
- Act as a recognised Subject Matter Expert across the Nuclear sector.
- Support development of execution strategies and key technical solutions.
- Promote best practice, lessons learned, and innovation across the business.
- Drive client engagement and positioning with key nuclear customers, across government, operators, technology developers and licensors, regulators and delivery partners.
- Support development of execution strategies and delivery models, positioning Worley as a full lifecycle delivery partner.
- Work with sales teams to shape, bid, and win opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and regulators.
- Represent Worley externally as a trusted advisor within the nuclear sector.
- Provide continuity from capture into execution, including acting as Executive Sponsor or senior delivery lead on major nuclear programmes where required.
- Identify, support, and develop nuclear talent across the organisation.
- Contribute to building a strong and sustainable Nuclear capability in the UK.
- Mentor and coach technical professionals and future leaders.
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Business Development and Sector leadership and teams to leverage knowledge and best practice.
- Ensure alignment with Worley sales, operations and governance frameworks, including risk management processes.
- Support safe and compliant project delivery across the Nuclear portfolio.
You’ll Have/Bring:
- Extensive leadership and management experience within the commercial nuclear sector, spanning the full project lifecycle from advisory through to EPC/EPCm delivery.
- Proven track record in senior roles such as Programme/Project Director, Operations, and Business Development, within demonstrated capability in leading complex, large-scale projects and driving commercial and operational success.
- Proven experience growing a nuclear business or sector.
- Demonstrated track record securing large, complex contracts and frameworks.
- Established network across government, operators, OEMs and Tier 1 contractors.
- In depth understanding of the UK nuclear market, including its regulatory environment, key clients, delivery models, and supply chain landscape.
- Strong experience working with the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and a sound understanding of UK nuclear licensing, regulatory expectations, and assurance requirements.
- Knowledge of EPC, EPCM, PMC, and Owner’s Engineer delivery models, with demonstrated experience leading large, complex nuclear programmes and pursuits.
- Strong capability in project governance, risk management, and decision-making across complex, high-value nuclear opportunities and programmes.
- Broad understanding of the nuclear value chain and technology landscape, with the ability to position technology‑neutral, full‑lifecycle solutions from early development through operations and decommissioning.
