This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to be part of the Global Operations UK Team and collaborate across and shape several cutting‑edge international projects within the energy and sustainability space. Under your strategic guidance, you will help shape the future at Worley, collaborate with some of the best individuals in the industry and support us on our journey delivering solutions that help customers in traditional, transitional, and sustainable sectors to lower emissions, improve resource efficiency, and respond to evolving market demands.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, UK Operations, the Vice President, Operations is a key leadership position, responsible for defining and delivering the Location strategy, planning and directing the activities, policies, objectives, and initiatives for this part of the business. The role plays a vital part in guiding the company’s strategic development, business planning, and goal setting for the business, aligning with Worley’s commitment to delivering a more sustainable world. As UK is a major Worley hub, this role works closely with EMEA Global Operations to deliver integrated, enterprise‑wide results.

You Will Do:

  • Provide visible, inclusive and values‑led leadership, fostering a Safety First / Life mindset and creating meaningful development and growth opportunities for teams.
  • Collaborate closely with EMEA Global Operations leadership to deliver company‑wide objectives and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with Worley’s internal and external regulatory requirements and mitigate risks to the business.
  • Role‑model safety behaviours and ensure these same behaviours are embedded in the location.
  • Lead a large complex location, aligning with Worley’s tagline “Delivering Sustainable Change.”
  • Drive the operation to safely deliver budget objectives in terms of revenue, margin, overhead and other key operational metrics including GID.
  • Actively participate in broader strategy development with other senior leadership, emphasizing Worley’s journey marked by change, adaptation, and growth and developing operational strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Actively participate in team selection/appointment of key resources and drive diversity and talent development.
  • Effectively communicate and present complex proposals to Senior Vice President for UK and other senior stakeholders.
  • Embody Worley’s Cultural objectives driving purpose, ambition, strategy, and values to stay on track and work toward achieving our goal of delivering a more sustainable world.
  • Lead, coach and develop high‑performing teams through a collaborative, participative leadership style.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and experience in all commercial contracting models/risk profiles and project scopes/phases (FEL/EPC/EPCM & Lump Sum/Fixed Price/Target Price/Reimbursable, etc.).

Decision‑Making And Problem Solving:

  • Make high‑impact choices based on considering the broader impact on the organization and its commitment to sustainability.
  • Assimilate information from multiple sources to derive answers and solve complex questions, demonstrating a commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions mitigating risk.
  • Act as a core member of the UK Operations Leadership Team actively contributing towards UK delivery targets and ambition.

Organizational Leadership:

  • Provide organizational leadership with location/regional authority, emphasizing Worley’s role as a prominent project delivery and engineering partner in energy, chemicals, and resources.
  • Translate corporate goals into operational goals, overseeing integration across the organization in a manner consistent with Worley’s promise to be the straight‑talking partner for sustainable transformation.
  • Mentoring and development of senior and high‑potential team members across the region.
  • Actively engage and support other regional projects in collaboration with regional management needs.
  • Lead and direct 5‑10 reports and a location with several hundred people.
  • Network and be active with high‑level key client contacts and industry bodies and develop and enhance customer relationships.

Strategic Development And Commercial Acumen:

  • Own the operational P&L and manage multi‑million‑dollar budgets on an annual basis, monitoring KPIs, analysing data to drive productivity, and enhancing profitability.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of broader systems, processes, and tools related to the field, emphasizing Worley’s evolution and growth over the past 50 years.
  • Direct and guide the strategic development of new systems, processes, and tools, reflecting Worley’s commitment to delivering sustainable change.
  • Exhibit strong commercial acumen with experience in various commercial contracting models, risk profiles, and project scopes/phases, showcasing Worley’s capability to drive innovation and sustainability across projects.

You’ll Be Able To/have:

  • Significant and demonstrable people and organisational leadership experience.
  • A broad Energy Sector and other Industrial experience.
  • Comfortable presenting at all levels within an organization from workforce on‑site to group executive level.
  • Strong communication and networking skills, with the ability to drive collaboration and successfully engage with client executives, senior management, and other key stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Track record in delivery of results across end‑to‑end delivery phases.
  • In‑depth knowledge of commercial contracting models, risk profiles, and project scopes/phases.
  • A network of high‑level key client contacts and credibility/ability to enhance customer relationships.
  • Motivational, collaborative, and visible presence in leadership style with good communication skills.
  • Approach challenges with high positive energy and drive continuous improvement to ensure high quality delivery.
  • Experience of successfully engaging with client executives, senior management, and other key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience in large projects or alliance programs environment from engineering through to construction and commissioning.

Location & Travel:

  • Based in and be visible in our UK offices.
  • Willing to travel regularly across the UK and internationally as required.
