  • Role Purpose

The UK Director of Project Services is accountable for the leadership, governance, capability and performance of the Project Services function across Worley UK.

The role provides leadership, technical governance, people management, resource planning, project delivery oversight, business support, and continuous improvement across the project services function.

  • Key Accountabilities
  • Support consistent and predictable project performance across operating units through the provision of talent and tools to ensure assured delivery.
  • Actively engages/supports other regional projects in collaboration with regional management needs.
  • Engages in strategy, key accounts, pursuits and proposals for business
  • Proactive change management.
  • Lead roll-out and compliance of standard operating tools and systems.
  • Support project reporting, analytics and planning.
  • Actively participates in team selection/appointment of key resources and drives diversity and talent development.
  • Mentoring and development of senior and high potential team members across the region.
  • Leadership & Governance
  • Provide visible leadership and governance for the project services function.

  • Serve as a senior member of the Location Management Team.
  • Own function risk management and improvement plans.
  • Drive function performance and technical excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, standards, and company requirements.
  • Project Delivery
  • Support excellence in project delivery through effective processes, systems, and governance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to discipline teams and project teams.
  • Resolve project execution issues.
  • Ensure effective workshare and Global Integrated Delivery (GID) utilization.
  • Participate in project reviews and engineering assurance activities.
  • People Leadership
  • Line manager for sub-function managers Managers
  • Manage performance, career development, recognition, remuneration, and engagement.
  • Lead succession planning for critical Project Services leadership and technical specialist roles.
  • Ensure competency assessments are completed.
  • Develop location capability and talent pipelines.
  • Support graduate development, SME development, and learning programs.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, wellbeing, and employee engagement.
  • Resource Planning & Capability
  • Manage departmental budgets and workforce plans.
  • Ensure the location has sufficient capability and capacity.
  • Approve and support recruitment decisions.
  • Develop capability matrices and location capability profiles.
  • Manage mobilization and demobilization of resources.
  • Develop long-term workforce and succession plans aligned to business strategy.
  • Identify current and future capability gaps and support implementation of targeted development plans.
  • Digitalization & Systems
  • Drive adoption of Worley global tools and systems.
  • Align with the Global Digital Strategy.
  • Promote data-centric and integrated project delivery.
  • Minimize deviations from approved global tools.
  • Business Development & Proposals
  • Support pursuit and proposal activities.
  • Engage with customers and sales teams to maintain strategic relationships.
  • Develop execution strategies.
  • Review project estimates and benchmarks.
  • Support winning new work and improving competitiveness.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Drive lessons learned and best-practice sharing.
  • Support innovation initiatives and global networks.
  • Develop and implement function improvement plans.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Extensive international project delivery/project services experience.
  • Experience of successfully leading and developing teams/departments.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience in all commercial contracting models/risk profiles and project scopes/phases (FEL/EPC/EPCM & Lump Sum/Fixed Price/Target Price/Reimbursable, etc).
  • Motivational leadership style and strong communication skills with ability to develop high performance culture.
  • Ability to mitigate risks effectively through positive decision making.
