Role ContextThis vacancy is for an experienced Consultant based in our Glasgow or Leeds offices to support the delivery and management of contaminated land assessment and remediation projects. It is a full‐time, permanent (40 hours per week) position within our Decommissioning, Restoration and Geosciences practice. The successful applicant will undertake the role of Supervisor to support the delivery of contaminated land remediation projects under the NEC3 and NEC4 suite of contracts. Training will be provided, but prior experience is preferred.

You\’ll Be

Supporting the management and delivery of contaminated land assessment and remediation projects, including the delivery of desk studies, site investigation, risk assessments, remediation options appraisals, remedial design and verification.

Undertaking the NEC Supervisor role for contaminated land remediation projects and supporting the NEC Project Manager.

Managing data: review and interpretation.

Conducting field work, including managing contractors on site.

Managing project health and safety on site, including preparation of project HSSE plans and method statements.

Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.

You\’ll Have

Experience of delivering contaminated land assessment and remediation projects on sites in the UK.

Proven ability to write high quality technical reports.

Experience presenting, analysing and interpreting data.

Experience leading contaminated land site investigations.

Some project management experience, with NEC contract management experience desirable.

Experience undertaking the role of Supervisor on contaminated land remediation projects under NEC3 and NEC4 acceptable.

Ability to manage HSSE aspects of site work and lead the HSSE culture of a project.

Ability to build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and contractors.

Working knowledge of Eurocodes, UK and international standards desirable.

Evidence of continuing professional development and working towards Chartership.

A willingness to travel, stay away from home and undertake site‐based work.

Qualifications

Candidates should be educated to degree level (Master\’s preferred) in a relevant discipline such as Geology, Applied Environmental Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Environmental Consultancy, Geochemistry.
