Geo-Environmental Consultant II
Role Context – This vacancy is for an experienced Consultant based in our Glasgow or Aberdeen offices to support in the delivery and management of contaminated land assessment and remediation projects. This is a full time, permanent (40 hours per week) position and will be part of our Decommissioning, Restoration and Geosciences practice.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake the role of Supervisor to support the delivery of contaminated land remediation project under the NEC3 and NEC4 suite of contracts. Training will be provided regarding the Supervisor role, but some previous experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Supporting the management and delivery of contaminated land assessment and remediation projects including delivery of desk studies, site investigation, risk assessments, remediation options appraisals, remedial design and verification.
- Undertaking the NEC Supervisor role for contaminated land remediation projects and supporting the NEC Project Manager.
- Data management: review and interpretation.
- Carrying out field work including managing contractors on site.
- Managing project health and safety on site including preparation of project HSSE plans and method statements, and compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Degree (Master’s preferred) in a relevant discipline (e.g. Geology, Applied Environmental Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Environmental Consultancy, Geochemistry).
- Experience of delivering contaminated land assessment and remediation projects on sites in the UK.
- A proven ability to write high quality technical reports.
- Experience of presenting, analysing and interpreting data.
- Experience in leading contaminated land site investigations.
- Some project management experience, with NEC contract management experience desirable.
- Experience of undertaking the role of Supervisor on contaminated land remediation projects under the NEC3 and NEC4 suite of contracts desirable.
- Ability to manage HSSE aspects of site work and to lead the HSSE culture of a project.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and contractors.
- A working knowledge of Eurocodes, UK and international standards desirable.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and working towards Chartership.
- A willingness to travel, stay away from home and undertake site-based work.
