We are seeking a skilled and experienced Logistics Consultant to join our Land Transport & Logistics Service Line as Logistics Practice Lead for the EMEA region. Reporting to the Service Line Director, the Practice Lead will be responsible for assisting in the establishment and development of the Transport Logistics business throughout the EMEA region.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Practice as part of the Land Transport & Logistics (LT&L) business and have overall accountability for the business development, delivery, performance, administration and operational efficiency across the Practice;
- Coordinate Practice area strategy and business development with Ports, Transport & Logistics (PTL) Hub leadership;
- Coordinate the development of a regional center of expertise in Transport Logistics, in particular through strategic recruitment and mentoring for developing expertise within the team.
- Deploy project management and technical guidance regarding the various specialist skills and service offerings in the Practice, such as material transport & logistics, logistics strategies, construction & operation logistics, logistics design, materials handling, project cargo management, and process optimization.
- Lead the development and execution of logistics studies in the initial phases of projects. Tasks include gathering and analyzing data, identifying key logistics challenges and opportunities, coordinating activities, tracking and reporting on project delivery, developing recommendations, and client liaison.
- Provide Clients with expert logistics subject matter expertise to scope requirements, prepare proposals, and develop internal and external networks.
- Identify new business prospects within own area and beyond own scope, through working collaboratively across other internal Service Lines/Practices (Master Planning & Facilities, Ports & Marine, Land Transport) to develop and implement logistics solutions that meet client needs and exceed expectations.
- Capitalize on existing client relationships and internal network in the EMEA region to build a Transport Logistics client base and project capability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in logistics processes and practices.
- Represent Worley Consulting/Worley in Logistics meetings and seminars ensuring early engagement of logistics resource and understanding of logistics effect.
- Occasional travel may be required for client meetings or project purposes.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in a logistics/transportation subject or with equivalent relevant and comprehensive experience in logistics/transportation/supply chain.
- Professional qualification/certification in logistics/supply chain or working towards chartership.
- 15 years minimum experience in senior logistics consulting positions, with a proven track record of executing logistics studies and leading logistics teams, and with specific proficiency in logistics management.
- Recognized by peers and industry as an authority in one or more areas of Transport Logistics.
- Client focus, marketing and business development skills for provision of specialist Transport Logistics services.
- Firm understanding of current global logistics, transportation issues and world affairs.
- Good knowledge of world geographic boundaries, trade lanes and main logistics hubs.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills (both up and down) at senior level both within Worley Consulting/Worley and to our clients and external providers.
- Capability in developing business proposals for clients, by understanding client requirements and leveraging expertise from across a multi-disciplinary team.
- A collaborative style of working that fosters teamwork and innovation.
- Effective compliance with Worley Consulting/Worley company policies and procedures relating to logistics management (including but not limited to, conduct, safety, compliance and ethics).
