About the Role
Cover People are currently recruiting for a Science Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Bury, starting from September 2026 for a full term as a minimum. This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers and experienced educators to inspire and engage students across KS3 and KS4. ECTs will benefit from a supportive induction and mentoring programme, while experienced teachers will have the opportunity to contribute to a thriving and collaborative Science department. M1-M6 Teachers will be paid to scale from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Science teaching in line with national curriculum standards
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4 Science
- Monitor and assess pupil progress effectively
- Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment
- Support the academic and personal development of all learners
- Contribute positively to department planning and wider school initiatives
Requirements
- QTS or equivalent UK teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A passion for teaching and pupil progress
- Ability to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that support student achievement
- Right to work in the UK
