About the Role

As an Unqualified Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work directly in secondary schools, delivering lessons and supporting pupils across KS3 and, where appropriate, KS4.

Depending on your experience and subject specialism, you may be responsible for delivering planned lessons, covering classes or working alongside experienced teaching staff.

This could include:

  • Developing your confidence, classroom presence and teaching practice.

You don't need to be a qualified teacher to apply. We're interested in your subject knowledge, experience with young people and potential to become an excellent educator.

Who Are We Looking For?

This role is ideal for candidates who are looking to build a career in secondary education, including:

Graduates - Perhaps you've recently completed a degree in English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Art, PE or another relevant subject and want to gain practical classroom experience before entering teacher training.

Aspiring Teachers - If you're considering a PGCE, School Direct, SCITT or other teacher training route, this is an excellent way to develop first‑hand experience of life in a secondary classroom.

Experienced Educators - You may already have experience working with young people as a Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor, Tutor, Youth Worker or Behaviour Mentor and now want to take the next step towards teaching.

Transitioning Professionals - We also welcome applications from professionals with transferable skills from youth work, social care, coaching and other people‑focused careers.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills, or the potential to develop them.
