This is an exciting opportunity to work within a brand-new transition block , featuring state-of-the-art facilities designed to provide an outstanding learning environment for students.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the building remains safe, secure, clean, and well‑maintained for both staff and pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Opening and securing the school building each day.
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Ensuring the premises and grounds are clean, safe, and well‑presented.
  • Conducting regular health and safety checks.
  • Setting up rooms and facilities for school activities and events.
  • Liaising with contractors and reporting maintenance issues as required.
  • Supporting the school with general site management duties.
  • The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Previous caretaking, maintenance, or site management experience (school experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Good DIY and practical maintenance skills.
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem‑solving abilities.
  • The ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Compliance Requirements

This role is subject to safer recruitment procedures in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance. The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Hold or obtain an Enhanced DBS check, including a Children's Barred List check.
  • Provide satisfactory references covering the previous two years of employment.
  • Complete all required pre‑employment checks, including identity, right to work in the UK, and qualification verification where applicable.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
