About the Role
Cover People are currently recruiting for a Maths Teacher to join a supportive and welcoming secondary school in Manchester for the full academic year, starting in September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers and experienced educators to teach Mathematics across KS3 and GCSE. The school has a strong and supportive leadership team, clear behaviour policies, and a collaborative Maths department committed to achieving the best outcomes for students. ECTs will benefit from a supportive environment with experienced colleagues on hand, whilst experienced teachers will have the opportunity to contribute to a successful and well-established department. M1-M6 Teachers will be paid to scale from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Maths teaching in line with the national curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and GCSE Mathematics
- Monitor, assess and track student progress effectively
- Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment
- Differentiate lessons to support students of varying abilities and needs
- Support the academic and personal development of all learners
- Contribute positively to department planning and wider school initiatives
Requirements
- QTS or equivalent UK teaching qualification
- Experience teaching KS3 & GCSE Mathematics
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A passion for Maths and raising student attainment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Right to work in the UK
