Piping Engineer – Reading
On behalf of a major Oil & Gas operator, WRS are looking for a Piping Engineer to work in Reading on a contract basis. The contract will run until the end of September 2025, based residentially in the contractor offices in Reading, paying an hourly rate.
The role will be supporting the development of a gas compression project, in the FEED/Detailed Engineering phases.
Job Duties:
- Review and assess design drawings, materials, and equipment specifications.
- Ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Plan and schedule project activities to meet deadlines.
- Oversee contractor design, procurement, and construction to maintain project integrity.
- Participate in HAZOP studies, constructability workshops, and risk assessments.
- Monitor 3D model reviews, TAG resolution, and interface coordination.
- Provide engineering input for early construction scope and change orders.
- Ensure project progresses as per schedule and maintains efficiency in piping systems.
- Implement and enforce safety measures in the workplace.
Requirements:
- Experience working with a major energy company is required.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10-15 years of experience in Oil & Gas projects from FEED to completion.
- Strong expertise in engineering design and field implementation.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
- Knowledge of international engineering standards and best practices.
