Transport Planner - Night Shift Only in Heathrow

As a member of the team, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the smooth and efficient movement of goods 24/7. You will be responsible for managing land-based transport operations, adhering to strict security and safety regulations. Your main responsibilities on a day-to-day basis will be:

• Route Planning: Develop optimal transportation routes for moving cargo based on factors such as distance, time, cost, and mode of transport.
• Carrier Selection: Identify and select appropriate carriers or logistics service providers to transport cargo, considering factors such as capacity, reliability, cost, and service level agreements.
• Load Consolidation: Coordinate the consolidation of multiple shipments into full truckloads or container loads to maximise efficiency and minimise transportation costs.
• Scheduling and Dispatching: Plan and schedule transportation movements, including pickup and delivery times.
• Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all necessary transportation documentation and reports are completed and distributed within the business, verifying compliance with transportation laws and regulations.
• Cost Analysis and Optimization: Identify possible savings and improvements for the department and support their implementation.
• Customer Communication: Build strong, collaborative relationships with WFS customers, putting their best interest at the forefront of everything we do.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Excellent command of the English language in both written and verbal communication.
• Prior transport planning and busy transport operation knowledge and experience.
• Air and road logistics knowledge.
• Good levels of IT literacy.
• ADR & Hazardous Awareness and Training to Level D (Cargo Op) is advantageous.
• Full clean Driver’s Licence and Forklift Licence is preferred (training is available).
• Professionally well presented.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
