We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our Continuous Improvement (CI) team at WFS in London Heathrow. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping operational efficiency and driving sustainable improvements in our cargo handling operations. As a CI Process Specialist, you will be responsible for analysing air cargo operational processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to enhance operational efficiency.
Your main responsibilities on a day to day basis will be:
- Process Standardisation & Stabilisation: Support the implementation of standardised operating procedures (SOPs) across WFS UK warehouses.
- Process Standardisation & Stabilisation: Ensure consistency in process execution across different warehouse/office environments, reducing variation and inefficiencies.
- Process Standardisation & Stabilisation: Conduct process mapping, time and motion studies, and workflow analysis to identify improvement areas.
- Process Ownership & Change Management: Act as the key process owner within your assigned functional area (Warehouse).
- Process Ownership & Change Management: Drive structured change management practices, ensuring that all process changes are tracked, measured, and properly embedded.
- Operational Improvement & CI Activities: Implement 5s and workplace organisation principles to improve efficiency and safety.
- Operational Improvement & CI Activities: Support and facilitate Gemba Walks, ensuring that leadership and teams engage in continuous improvement discussions.
- Operational Improvement & CI Activities: Monitor and track operational performance through KPI dashboards and audits.
- Training & Engagement: Work closely with operations teams to train and mentor staff in CI methodologies (5S, PDCA, lean).
- Training & Engagement: Lead structured team engagement activities, such as shift briefings and problem-solving workshops.
- Collaboration & Leadership Support: Work closely with the CI Lead and Operational Leadership to align CI activities with strategic objectives.
- Collaboration & Leadership Support: A key point of contact for process improvement initiatives, supporting both frontline staff and management teams.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Excellent operational expertise in air cargo supply chain operations, specifically warehousing.
- Lean and Six Sigma Green Belt certification and experience or strong willingness to learn and train CI methodology and practices.
- Strong analytical skills - ability to assess data, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills - ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation and to liaise effectively with customers and suppliers at all levels.
- The ability to document and develop standard work instructions, training materials, and SOPs.
- To be self-motivated and proactive - demonstrates initiative and takes ownership of improvements.
- Good understanding of Excel & ability to assess and interpret data.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- A high degree of self-motivation and professionalism.
- Good attention to detail.
