About the team
Our Product and Technology teams are the Worldpayers behind the game-changing products and digital experiences we’re best known for. Striving for better, they never stand still — delivering impactful innovations that power transactions across the world. Hosted Payment Pages is a talented, creative group working together to build and maintain the Worldpay Hosted Payment Pages. Our clients range from small and medium businesses to some of the world’s largest brands. We use global collaboration to support global clients. Our group is a place where learning and growing are core parts of the journey. We care deeply about things like code quality, ownership, empowerment, automation, and agile ways of working.
What you’ll own
- Be the lead engineer of a squad of Software Engineers and Quality Assurance Analysts, providing technical leadership, hands on coding and QA of code, amongst other duties.
- Liaise and support Product, Engineering and Architecture colleagues with technical designs, ideas and direction.
- Collaboratively develop the features and engineering capabilities for Hosted Payment Pages. We aim to employ automation wherever necessary.
- Collaborate in all stages of development from requirement discussions with the Product Owner to the deployment of the feature in the cloud.
- Join the on-call rota to support the highly available products developed by the squad.
- Collaborate with your fellow engineers from other squads to make decisions around technologies, patterns, and approaches to adopt.

What you bring
- Experience with front-end technologies, such as React.
- Experience building and operating large scale and highly available microservices deployed to the cloud.
- Experience building microservices with containers, Spring Boot and Java.
- Experience with unit testing and BDD frameworks, such as JUnit, Cucumber and Jest.
- Strong communication skills and fluent in English.
- An engineering skillset that is focused on quality, regardless of the activity.
- Experience with mentoring engineers at all levels.
- Experience with building team culture.
- An agile mindset where you will drive both your squad and the wider tribe towards better ways of working.
- You ask the right questions, listening and learning to get better every day.
- You never stop learning, no matter how experienced you are.

- Experience of the Payments industry domain especially Cards and other payment schemes.
- Experience of PCI-DSS.
- Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes and AWS.
- Experience with Kafka or any other messaging-oriented middleware.
