Access is a talented, creative group working together to bring the next generation payment gateway. Our clients range from small/medium businesses and start‑ups to some of the largest tech and digital firms. We focus on immutability, automation, test‑driven development and agile ways of working.
What you’ll own
As a member of the squad you will collaborate across teams to design, develop, operate and improve products that customers use. You will take ownership of the product and industry, mentor less experienced engineers and support the squad with data‑driven tools and emerging technologies. You’ll join the on‑call rota to support highly available products.
Main responsibilities
- Collaboratively develop features and engineering capabilities for squad‑owned products.
- Engage in all stages of development from requirement discussions with Product Owners through to cloud‑based deployment.
- Participate in the on‑call rota to support high‑availability products.
- Create tools for data‑driven decisions and explore emerging technologies to select the right tools.
- Mentor and support junior engineers within the squad and the broader tribe.
- Lead decision‑making around technologies, patterns and approaches in collaboration with engineers from other squads.
What you bring
- Experience designing, implementing and operating large‑scale, highly available microservices deployed to the cloud.
- Experience building microservices with Docker, Java, Spring Boot and reactive programming.
- Experience with Test‑Driven Development and a test‑first philosophy.
