In this role, you’ll drive high-quality due diligence decisions, shape how regulatory requirements are applied across the business, and provide expert guidance on complex cases. About the team

The SMB Specialised Due Diligence team is responsible for assessing all Worldpay for Business customers during onboarding and at key stages throughout their lifecycle. The team verifies customer identity, business operations, and ownership structures to help protect Global Payments and the wider industry from financial crime, money laundering, and terrorist financing.

Known for delivering outstanding service and strong commercial outcomes, the team balances effective Anti-Money Laundering (AML) controls with a seamless customer experience and has earned recognition for its performance and results.

What you’ll own

  • Drive informed onboarding and customer review decisions by assessing complex and escalated due diligence cases against regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Shape effective risk outcomes by providing expert guidance on customer due diligence, compliance obligations, and policy interpretation.
  • Influence business decisions by partnering with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and operational teams on challenging customer and regulatory matters.
  • Identify and communicate regulatory changes that impact products, services, and business activities, ensuring the business remains compliant and informed.
  • Strengthen compliance across Global Payments by assessing processes, controls, and customer activities to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
  • Drive timely resolution of compliance findings by tracking issues through to completion and ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
  • Build compliance awareness across the business through training, guidance, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Improve the customer and colleague experience by creating practical compliance solutions that balance regulatory requirements with commercial objectives.

What you bring

  • Experience in customer due diligence, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), compliance, financial crime, risk management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within financial services, payments, banking, or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Experience assessing complex customer structures and making risk-based decisions with confidence.
  • The ability to interpret regulations and translate them into practical business guidance.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach to identifying risks, solving problems, and driving continuous improvement.
