What You’ll Own As The Senior Business Consultant
As a Senior Business Consultant, you will lead the implementation of authorisation improvement strategies across the entire enterprise organisation. You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive solution adoption and enhance client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Primary Focus – story telling and translating the recommended solution into actionable items, with both our internal and external stakeholders to implement the solution and uplifting our authorization approval rates.
- Support business strategy and business plan for team/group operations.
- Gather feedback to refine strategies.
- Document recurring issues and coordinate with specialist teams.
- Take Recommendation and work to implement solutions via Merchants.
- Support product/platform support development.
- Industry Network and Issuers engagement.
- Monitor various Work Queues to obtain a) Client feedback and b) Internal feedback from Operations, Relationship Management, Business Development and specialist Authorisation teams covering New and Existing Enterprise clients.
- Document new and recurring problems and refer to other specialist teams where relevant for triage and solution (e.g. Technology, Product Management).
- You will be a key member of a global team charged with identifying and resolving live authorization issues and opportunities.
- You will support WorldPay clients and Client facing teams in driving best in class Authorisation rates.
Key Areas In Which You Will Add Value
- Own the responsibility for identifying and resolving the biggest authorization issues: from identifying issues through dashboards and data interrogation, to owning the resolution (including enlisting support from other teams where needed) and tracking the impact delivered.
- Collaborate internally to submit issues for resolution, tracking success, and working to refine the operating model between teams for greatest success.
- Analytics and Insights: Use analytics to identify areas for improvement, bottlenecks and opportunities on authorization issue investigation.
- Establish robust impact tracking to demonstrate authorization enhancement programme achievements, which can be shared to senior leadership.
- Facilitate the exchange of feature requests between the authorization teams and tooling team to support the continuous development of authorisation monitoring tooling (Executive & Operational dashboards, Root Cause Analysis, Near-time alerting, etc.)
- Support the development of a knowledge codification library for the broader Authorization team, and cross-team learning and alignment calls in partnership with key internal stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience within Payments.
- Broad knowledge of Worldpay products and related services; in-depth knowledge of products and services for which team(s) provide support.
- Knowledge of basic IT technologies, i.e., operating systems, network devices, software development and architecture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors.
- Excellent problem-solving, time management and project management skills.
- Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Deep understanding of the payments industry and authorisation pathways (e.g., gateways, platforms, acquirers, networks, issuers, etc.)
- Experience with Authorization investigation & resolution, strong analytical skills to understand investigation approaches of team & get involved on most complex matters.
- Strong leadership & communication skills, and strong project management skills.
- Understanding (but not detailed expertise) of requirements for engineering ticket submissions, converting business requirements to product stories, PI process, etc.
- Some flexibility of hours is required.

- Strong existing connections within the Worldpay business (e.g., Product, Commercial or Operational) & ability to drive new cross-business collaboration.
- Knowledge and experience with differing platforms (e.g., WPG, VAP, NAP) and merchant profiles (e.g., needs and issues of smaller vs larger merchants).
About The Team
Worldpay aims to ensure that consumers experience successful transactions every time they spend. To support this goal, Worldpay has established a dedicated team focused on Authorization Rates. This team would be a key pillar within our new structure, focusing on improving authorization performance globally. The team will proactively identify the biggest issues affecting our authorization performance (using dashboards, proactive analysis, and submissions from RMs), prioritise effort on the most important issues, then own the investigation and resolution.
