We're looking for a Head of Settlement Accounting to join our team to help us unleash the potential of every business.
About The Team: Our Settlement Accounting teams are responsible for ensuring that all own cash, merchant cash and settlement activity is correctly accounted for. The teams are currently organised by payment platform and are led by experienced managers. We form part of Worldpay's Treasury team and work closely with teams Cash Management, FX and Capital Markets.
What you'll own:
- Develops, leads, manages and motivates staff.
- Monitors staff performance, works with the People Office on issues and works with employees to implement goals and document progress.
- Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency.
- Ensures timely and accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of accounting data and revenue.
- May work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes.
- Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies.
- Participates in annual audits, and special projects.
- Establish and implement robust oversight mechanisms to monitor the effectiveness of processes across the function.
What you bring:
- Qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA) with 10 years PQE.
- Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and their application in a large, diverse organization.
- Strong management skills with experience of coaching, and mentoring.
- Ability to identify, address, and resolve employee related issues.
- Excellent organisation, planning, and workload management and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Industry knowledge, financial management and planning skills, long-term vision, and executive presence.
- Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills able to articulate ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise, and professional manner including presentations.
- Ability to design, document, and implement process improvements.
Added bonus if you have:
- Experience working in Payments, Financial Services or the Fintech space.
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
