Responsibilities

You will be focused on delivering robust and performant database applications that meet business driven SLAs and quality criteria.

  • Working with other teams across the project you will develop and enhance code and provide ideas and concepts to further improve platform efficiency.
  • You will optimize physical schema designs and produce ILM solutions for application datasets.
  • You will also develop cloud based applications using new technologies in AWS, driving out cutting edge, cost efficient solutions for tomorrow’s platforms.
  • Technical Lead and Mentor for Junior team members.
  • Capacity planning and ILM Data driven architecture.
  • Continuous improvement of database application layer.
  • Develop and maintain performance measurement frameworks.
  • Defect analysis and bug fixing.
  • Production fast fix.
  • Object design.
  • Maintain & automate AWS infrastructure via Terraform Containerization technology (e. g. Docker, EKS).
  • Understand the team objectives and make sure that the team are on the path to achieving the Sprint / PI Goals.
  • Participate in code reviews, retros and demos.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years experience in Data Platform related roles.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.
  • Proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven track record working on high volume Oracle processing system.
  • Strong demonstrable understanding of Oracle database architecture.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills.
  • Strong demonstrable SQL.
  • Demonstrable understanding AWR and ASH reports.
  • Demonstrable understanding of SQL execution plans.
  • Demonstrable understanding of programming techniques and structures (PL/SQL).
  • Demonstrable understanding of oracle segment partitioning and index usage.
  • Demonstrable understanding of AWS architecture and applications.
