About the Team

Worldpay Access is a talented, creative group working together to bring the next generation payment gateway. Our clients range from small/medium businesses and start‑ups to some of the largest tech and digital firms. We focus on immutability, automation, test‑driven development and agile ways of working.

What You’ll Own

  • Collaborate with a cross‑functional squad to design, develop, operate and improve the products our customers use.
  • Work with the wider engineering team to solve challenges that require collaboration across squads.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the product and industry you’re building for, and mentor less experienced engineers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively develop features and engineering capabilities for squad products.
  • Use automation throughout the development life cycle.
  • Participate in all stages of development, from requirement discussions with the Product Owner to deployment in cloud‑based environments.
  • Join the on‑call rota to support highly available products.
  • Provide the squad with tools to enable data‑driven decision making and explore emerging technologies.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers within the squad and wider tribe.
  • Lead decision‑making around technologies, patterns and approaches in collaboration with other squads.

What You Bring

  • Experience designing, implementing and operating large‑scale, highly available microservices deployed to the cloud.
  • Experience building microservices with Docker, Java, SpringBoot and reactive programming.
  • Experience with Test‑Driven Development and a test‑first philosophy.
  • An agile mindset that drives improvement in ways of working.
  • An inquisitive personality looking for constant improvement opportunities.
