Worldover is building the next generation AI powered operating system for chemical companies. We are combining the system of record and system of action into one platform; seamlessly integrating people and AI to revolutionise how companies in the chemical industry operate. Our users are power users, using the platform many hours a day. The standard is super high, the complexity is high, and the breadth of what we have to deliver is high. Role Brief

The best products are built by people who are willing to put themselves in the shoes of their users. This requires an ability to understand the user experience deeply, translate user needs into effective workflows, and then implement those workflows using strong technical ability. As a Software Engineer, you’ll work across the product to build intuitive, reliable and scalable software for users who depend on Worldover every day. You’ll care about the quality of the customer experience and the quality of the implementation. Your implementations will include fullstack features, agentic workflows for users, internal tooling, and more.

In the new world of AI enabled development, we believe technical ability is relevant more than ever. Technical knowledge and experience can be multiplied by AI tools. You'll be working closely with these AI tools in your day‑to‑day and collaborate with the rest of the team on improving AI development workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Engineering and User Experience
    • Build high-quality product experiences by understanding user needs, translating them into workflows, and implementing them with care.
    • Work closely with the team to understand user problems and product requirements.
    • Translate customer needs and feedback into clear, effective product experiences.
    • Build AI-enabled workflows that help users complete complex tasks.
    • Balance technical implementation with a strong sense of usability and design.
  • Frontend Development
    • Create dynamic, reliable and polished user interfaces.
    • Build and maintain frontend features using React, Typescript, NextJS and Tailwind CSS.
    • Develop reusable components and scalable frontend patterns.
    • Ensure product interfaces are responsive, accessible and easy to use.
  • Backend and Platform Development
    • Contribute to the systems that power the Worldover platform, supporting reliability, scalability and performance.
    • Build and work with infrastructure such as AWS, Supabase and Vercel.
    • Work with APIs, data models and platform services to support customer‑facing workflows.
    • Collaborate with the engineering team to improve system architecture and implementation quality.
    • Support the delivery of robust, maintainable and scalable product features.
  • Technical Quality and Delivery
    • Help the team ship excellent software quickly, thoughtfully and consistently.
    • Take ownership of problems from definition through to delivery.
    • Review, test and improve features before they reach customers.
    • Use tools such as Git, Docker, Supabase, AWS, as part of the development workflow.
  • Team Collaboration and Growth
    • Work closely with a high-performing team, learning quickly and contributing to the company’s technical culture.
    • Collaborate with Product, Engineering and leadership to shape product direction.
    • Learn quickly across unfamiliar technologies, tools and domains.
    • Contribute to overall team AI tooling knowledge and ability.
    • Contribute to a culture of high standards, strong ownership and thoughtful execution.
    • Bring energy, curiosity and ambition to a fast-moving startup environment.

Who are you?

  • You are passionate about coding, problem‑solving and building user-friendly products.
  • You have experience building projects with impressive technical depth.
  • You understand how to translate user feedback and requirements into products that people love.
  • You are comfortable with, or excited to learn Typescript.
  • You have played around with AI implementations as parts of projects.
  • You have an eye for design and care about creating intuitive, aesthetically pleasing product experiences.
  • You are ambitious, diligent and excited by the challenge of building complex software in a fast-moving environment.
  • You can demonstrate impressive technical depth in some project or area‑of‑expertise.
  • You have experience with backend Typescript.
  • You have worked with AWS or cloud-based infrastructure.
  • You have experience building workflow‑driven or configurable software platforms.
  • You have worked on products used intensively by power users.

25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays to ensure you have the time you need to relax and recharge. Pension scheme with Smart Pension, with 3% from us and 1% from you. Equity. Hybrid working, with Monday, Tuesday and Thursday onsite in our HQ in Camden. Remote working for the rest of the week. Standard working hours of 9am–6pm, with flexibility to support work‑life balance. Learning and development support to help you grow.

Interview Process

  • Technical Deep Dive, 45 minutes — Senior Engineer.
  • CTO Chat, 30 minutes — CTO.
  • Onsite Final, 1 hour — CTO and CEO.
