Worldmodeldata is building the trusted data backbone for the next generation of AI — world models and embodied AI. We extract millions of multi-modal, action-conditioned trajectories from video games and deliver them as training-ready datasets to frontier AI labs. Strategically advised by Prof. Yann LeCun. THE ROLE
This is not a pure visual design role. We are looking for a product designer who ships — someone equally at home in Figma and in a component library, who takes a user flow from first sketch to production without needing a separate developer to translate every screen. You will own the UX across two distinct user types: the external users who interact with our data collection platform, and the enterprise clients who access and work with our data products. Both relationships depend on interfaces that are clear, trustworthy, and low-friction — and it is your job to make sure they stay that way as the product grows.
In a team of engineers, you will be the only person whose primary job is the user's experience. That means you set the standard, maintain it, and push back when implementation drifts from intent.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- User-facing web platform — the end-to-end experience for external users: onboarding, account management, access flows, and the tooling they use day-to-day
- Internal admin tooling — interfaces for the team to manage users, review submissions, and monitor platform activity
- Desktop application UI — an embedded interface for a Windows desktop application used by our external user base; clarity and low friction are critical
- Client-facing delivery portal — the interface through which enterprise clients access, preview, and work with our data products
- Design system — a shared component library (Figma + implementation) maintained in close collaboration with the engineering team
- Onboarding experience — in close partnership with the engineering team, reducing drop-off and support burden at every step of the user journey
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of product design experience on software products used by real users (not just internal tools or marketing sites)
- Strong Figma proficiency — component organisation, auto-layout, design tokens, and the ability to produce a design system another engineer can implement from
- Ability to run lightweight user research and usability testing; you do not need a research team to validate a flow
- A track record of designing for clarity over novelty — functional, trustworthy UX that reduces friction, not portfolio pieces
Implementation
- Comfortable writing/reviewing HTML and CSS to production standard — you can build the component yourself, not just annotate the Figma
- Working knowledge of a component-based framework (React or equivalent); you can implement basic interactive components without a developer
- Understands how your design decisions affect engineering effort — you make trade-offs consciously and communicate them clearly
Working Style
- Comfortable being the only designer in the room and setting the standard without a design team behind you
- Confident pushing back on implementation that diverges from design intent
- Able to work directly with engineers as a peer, not through a PM layer

- You treat empty states, error states, and loading states as first-class design problems, not afterthoughts

- You have opinions about what good looks like and can defend them, but you know when to compromise for speed
