  • This role will require regular weekend working with occasional unsociable hours

Overview of Job: Provide support for all studio productions at Stockley Park, utilising technical skills and expertise across a variety of operational roles within the studio and gallery facilities. From technical support through to camera operations.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Operate key equipment on the studio floor or in the production control room (PCR), often in a live environment. This can mean working with cameras, sound, vision, lighting or replay systems, and will depend on operational experience of studio equipment and expertise in these technical areas.
  • Preparing equipment for studio operations from rig through to derig. This may include cameras, lighting, vision, EVS, sound, graphics systems, floor monitors and a range of other technical equipment. Whilst in the studio, assist the Studio Technical Manager (STM) with wrap and final closing down of studio at the end of each day.
  • Assist with technical maintenance and care of equipment and report any faulty equipment to the Engineering Department in a timely manner, supporting minimal impact on the production. Make sure equipment is correctly and safely stored away after use.
  • Support live operations across the facility from a technical perspective. Be that vodcast, TX playout, gallery or studio.
  • Assist freelance studio crew with knowledge of IMG kit and processes, if necessary, with the approval of the Technical Managers or operational supervisor.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with production teams, studio crew and IMG colleagues.
  • Comply with all IMG studio Health and Safety policies, promoting a positive safety culture in all areas at IMG Studios.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a multi-skilled technical operations role, or significant experience in at least one area of technical operation in studio production. Excellent understanding of the production process.
  • Experience of working in a live studio environment.
  • Good knowledge of broadcast equipment and systems, including cameras, sound, vision, lighting, graphics, post-production, media management, MCR and playout.

Desirable: Previous experience with the following kit will be useful: ETC Ion lighting boards, Lawo audio desks, Reidel talkback, Sony vision mixers, EVS XT3 LSM, Sony HXC-100 camera systems, GV AMPP, Live U Studio, Stream deck, OBS.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Operational experience and expertise in at least one technical area of studio production, e.g., cameras, vision, lighting, sound, and replay.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the studio environment, including legislation for working at height, manual handling, noise, electricity at work and a good understanding and importance of the risk assessment process.
