WWT is looking for a Mid/Senior Network Engineer with strong experience in designing and delivering large-scale network solutions, leading programmes, and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and governance standards. The ideal candidate will be able to drive the design and delivery of complex network solutions within large enterprise environments.

This is a contract role & Inside IR35.

Contract Duration: 12 months contract

Location: Northwest England, United Kingdom (Hybrid with 2-3 days onsite per week)

Overview:

  • Act as a Lead or Senior Engineer at subject matter expert level within the Complex Delivery team.
  • Contribute to engineering and architectural standards and produce low-level designs.
  • Lead delivery on programmes by guiding aligned engineers, taking responsibility for end-to-end project execution, and providing progress updates to the wider leadership team.
  • Design, build, and deploy network infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Work with global support teams to transition delivered solutions into operational support.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in two or more network technologies, with a working knowledge of the other network technologies.
  • Scope, plan, and act as Lead Engineer on large transformational programmes and network-led initiatives.
  • Ensure that designs align with current architectural guidelines and that supporting documentation is fit for purposes.
  • Maintain compliance across all network disciplines, including governance, change management, and risk and audit requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management and Leadership.
  • Decision-Making and Problem Solving.
  • Risk and Control Objective.

Required Skills:

  • More than 10 years of demonstrable experience leading, designing, and implementing complex network solutions within a regulated industry or large enterprise environment.
  • Experience operating as a Lead Engineer on complex programmes, technically leading teams and providing progress updates to leadership.
  • A proactive approach to workload management, delivery, and time management.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex solutions clearly to stakeholders.
  • Good to have one or more of the following certifications: FortiGate Professional, F5 LTM/GTM at Certified Technical Specialist level, or equivalent.

Candidates will be required to go through background checks before commencing contract. Must be eligible to live and work in the specified work location. Some occasional travel may be required.
