About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Linux Engineer to support a high-impact project focused on optimizing voice and video traffic routing for eLux devices via Zscaler ZIA and ZPA. You will play a critical role in implementing and supporting device and user-based authentication methods, improving performance across distributed endpoints, and managing key systems on Linux.
This role will require close collaboration with Zscaler’s technical teams and internal business units, with a clear roadmap for delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment, configuration, and testing of new eLux builds across 100k+ endpoints.
- Implement and validate device-based and user-based authentication mechanisms using Zscaler ZIA/ZPA.
- Work with internal teams and Zscaler support to troubleshoot and remediate issues related to system builds and endpoint behavior.
- Upload, manage, and maintain Linux-based system images and configurations.
- Perform root cause analysis on Linux system issues, including core OS and application layer debugging.
- Support performance testing and provide input into optimization strategies for voice/video offload from the core network.
- Liaise with technical stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and resolution of blockers, particularly those tied to performance-related concerns from business units.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Linux system administration and scripting.
- Demonstrable experience working with endpoint devices, ideally thin clients like eLux.
- Hands-on knowledge of Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA).
- Ability to troubleshoot OS-level issues and system performance concerns.
- Experience uploading and managing Linux system builds at scale.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with network optimization and security principles.
