Job Summary: We are seeking a Product Owner to lead complex, enterprise-scale IT and cybersecurity initiatives within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment. This role is responsible for driving product vision, translating strategic objectives into executable backlogs, and guiding agile engineering teams to deliver high-impact, secure, and scalable solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep agile product leadership experience with strong technical domain knowledge across cybersecurity, networking, and cloud-based security platforms, and is comfortable operating in large, matrixed organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the product vision and roadmap for one or more enterprise IT or cybersecurity platforms.
  • Translate business, security, and regulatory requirements into well-defined epics, features, and user stories.
  • Prioritise the backlog based on business value, risk reduction, architectural alignment, and operational impact.
  • Act as the primary voice of the customer for agile engineering teams.

Agile Delivery:

  • Serve as Product Owner to define Agile Engineering Release Trains, working closely with Product Management, System Architects, and Engineers.
  • Lead and actively participate in PI Planning, backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure alignment between team-level delivery and program- and portfolio-level objectives.
  • Support dependency management and cross-team coordination in large-scale programs.

Stakeholder & Program Leadership:

  • Partner with senior stakeholders across IT, cybersecurity, networking, and the business to align priorities and manage expectations.
  • Support large organisational program planning efforts, including roadmap development, sequencing, and risk management.
  • Provide transparency into delivery progress, risks, and outcomes using metrics and dashboards.

Service & Operational Alignment:

  • Incorporate ITIL service management principles into product delivery to ensure operational readiness and service continuity.
  • Balance feature development with technical debt, reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with operations and support teams to ensure smooth transitions to production.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar agile leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience working in SAFe and Agile engineering environments.
  • Advanced proficiency with Jira and Confluence for backlog management, reporting, and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks and methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
  • Working knowledge of ITIL foundations and service management frameworks.
  • Solid experience with project management practices, including scope, risk, and dependency management.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Domain Experience (Highly Preferred):

  • Hands-on or delivery leadership experience with agile engineering teams in the following areas:
  • Proxy and secure web gateway solutions (e.g., Bluecoat or similar technologies)
  • Cloud-based Security-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms
  • Zero Trust concepts, including Zero Trust Architecture and cybersecurity engineering practices.
  • Large-scale IT and cybersecurity program planning in complex, regulated, global organisations.

Certifications:

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSO I/II)
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II)
  • SAFe® Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) – beneficial in scaled environments.

All candidates will need to go through a background check. Must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Only successful candidates will be contacted.
