Role
Join World Vision UK and make a real difference. This is a unique and rewarding role that combines governance management with high-level executive support. You will work at the heart of our organisation, supporting the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees while maintaining the highest standards of governance and compliance.
What makes this role special? You will coordinate board meetings, support trustee development, and provide essential executive assistance to our busy CEO. Every day is different, and you will contribute to our mission of building a better world for the most vulnerable children we serve.
What you’ll be doing
- As our Governance and Executive Assistant Manager, you will split your time between governance management (40%) and executive support (60%). You will be the principal point of contact for the Board of Trustees, ensuring they have everything they need to govern effectively.
- Organising and coordinating Board meetings, committee meetings, and our AGM with meticulous attention to detail.
- Providing high-level administrative support to our Chief Executive, including diary management, correspondence, and meeting preparation.
- Ensuring we stay compliant with all Charity Commission requirements and charity law.
- Coordinating trustee recruitment, induction, and training programmes.
- Supporting the planning and delivery of key organisational events and strategic planning sessions.
- Acting as secretary to our Board Development Committee and Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.
- Managing governance documents and maintaining comprehensive records.
- Supporting our CEO in relationship management with key partners, donors, and stakeholders.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Has proven experience providing high-level executive support to senior leaders.
- Understands charity governance inside out, including trustee responsibilities and regulatory requirements.
- Has exceptional attention to detail and can juggle multiple priorities with ease.
- Communicates brilliantly both in writing and verbally (including minute-taking).
- Can build strong relationships at all levels, from trustees to external stakeholders.
- Exercises sound judgment and handles confidential information with absolute discretion.
- Is proactive, solution focused, and brings a calm, professional approach to everything you do.
- Has commitment to supporting the Christian ethos and values of our organisation.
Nice to have
- A qualification in governance or PA/EA secretarial practice.
- Experience working within a Christian charity or faith-based organisation.
- Knowledge of Charity Commission guidance and charity law.
