Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 (Women’s RWC 2025) will be the 10th edition of the women's tournament. World Rugby, in partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and UK Sport, have formed a Local Operating Company to plan and deliver the event. Ambitions for the tournament are at an all-time high as women’s rugby is one of the fastest growing team sports in the world. Women’s RWC 2025 will be the ultimate stage for the best players, teams and coaches from 16 nations across the globe and is set to be the biggest and most widely watched women's rugby event ever.

RWC 2025 will see 16 teams compete, all of whom will be hosted in a number of our 30 Team Bases. Each Team Base will consist of an outdoor training venue, indoor training venue, swimming pool, gym and a hotel. RWC 2025 will be appointing a Team Base Coordinator to each city to support the operations of the Team Bases within that city during the tournament. The position is a tournament time role; the focus of which is to ensure the facilities and services provided to Teams at the respective Team Base are of the highest possible standards, and are in line with the Rugby World Cup 2025 Terms of Participation.
The Team Base Coordinator will also support the Team Services Pool Coordinator on a range of tasks relating to the preparation of Team Bases for the respective teams, in advance of the tournament. The Team Base Coordinator will contribute to the delivery of the highest quality facilities through on the ground communications and by implementing the highest standards of operational and logistical arrangements during the tournament.
Key Dates: This role will take place within the city of EXETER. The Team Base Coordinator will be operational at Team Bases across the city of EXETER. The operational dates of this role: Between 1ST August 2025- 17th September 2025. Total Number of anticipated days: 18
What you’ll be doing:
- Working with the Team Pool Coordinator and Team Base, ensure the Team Base facilities and services are provided as agreed and to the highest possible standards for RWC 2025.
- Support the delivery of the Team Base by quickly establishing excellent relationships with the facility owners and operators within the Team Bases and RWC 2025.
- Working with the Team Pool Coordinator, ensure that all necessary documentation, policies, procedures and contingency plans required are executed at the Team Base where required.
- Working with the Team Pool Coordinator, install look and feel elements, wayfinding and pitch equipment.
- Alongside the Team Pool Coordinator, act as a point of contact on site for RWC 2025 overlay contractors during installation and derig periods.
- Working with the Team Pool Coordinator, oversee the installation and delivery of equipment, temporary overlay and look and feel installed by RWC 2025.
- Meet teams upon their first visit to an outdoor training venue to support familiarisation and issue resolution, and ensuring a warm welcome is provided to all Teams visiting the Team Base.
- Where required according to delivery schedules, take receipt of deliveries, including delivery of team equipment on team transfer days and ensure they are stored safely and securely.
- Working with the Team Pool Coordinator and Team Liaison Officers, escalate any Team Base specific issues and report these issues through the appropriate channels in a timely fashion.
- Working with the Team Pool Coordinator, ensure that cleaning and maintenance regimes are carried out as necessary at the Team Base.
- Support the Team Base operations with the delivery of Community Engagement and Open Training Sessions.
Experience & knowledge you’ll need:
- Event or venue operations experience.
- This role requires manual labour and involves lifting objects and equipment on a regular basis.
- Knowledge of the respective city, hosting the RWC 2025 Team Bases.
- Ability to work and commit to allocated working hours, in line with the installation/derig plan and Teams schedules at the Team Base. This may be adhoc depending on the operational days of the Team Base.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with first class attention to detail.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
- Ability to maintain high standards of work in a challenging and competitive environment.
