World Retail Congress | London (Hybrid) | 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Imagine producing the conference programme that the CEOs of the world's largest retailers attend. Every year, World Retail Congress brings together the leaders shaping the future of global retail. Our stages have welcomed CEOs and senior executives from companies including IKEA, adidas, H&M, Carrefour, Lululemon, Alibaba, Uniqlo, Christian Louboutin and many more.

We're looking for an ambitious Senior Conference Producer with 3–5 years' experience producing high-quality B2B conferences to join us on a maternity cover contract. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the content strategy for one of the world's leading retail leadership events, while helping to shape our fast-growing sister event, World Retail Lab Asia.

If you're looking for the opportunity to accelerate your career, build relationships with some of the biggest names in global retail and see your work influence an international industry, we'd love to hear from you.

Why this role is different

This isn't just another conference production role. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Shape the agenda for one of the world's leading retail leadership events.
  • Work directly with CEOs, founders and senior executives from the world's biggest retailers and brands.
  • Build relationships with industry leaders across Europe, Asia and North America.
  • Develop the World Retail Congress podcast alongside retail CEOs and thought leaders.
  • Travel internationally to deliver events in Europe and Asia.
  • Influence the direction of an internationally recognised brand at an exciting stage of its growth.
  • Be trusted with genuine ownership and responsibility from day one.

For an ambitious conference producer, there are very few roles that offer this level of exposure.

The role

Working alongside our Congress Chair, Managing Director and Commercial Director, you'll oversee the content development for World Retail Congress and World Retail Lab Asia, while developing our year-round content programme. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing the agenda and securing the speaker line-up for World Retail Congress 2027
  • Researching emerging retail trends and identifying the industry's most influential speakers
  • Working alongside the Congress Chair to develop compelling, commercially relevant conference content
  • Managing speaker recruitment, briefing calls and programme development
  • Working with our Commercial Director to create high-quality commercial content, including executive roundtables and private leadership sessions
  • Overseeing content marketing activity in partnership with our external marketing agency
  • Managing weekly newsletters and thought leadership content
  • Coordinating and co-hosting the World Retail Congress podcast series with sponsor partners and retail leaders
  • Managing the speaker budget alongside our Speaker Operations Manager
  • Leading the content delivery onsite and working closely with our production company, stage managers and operations team
  • Developing the agenda and speaker programme for World Retail Lab Asia
  • Beginning research for World Retail Congress 2028 before handing the project back to the returning Head of Production

No two weeks are the same. One day you'll be interviewing a CEO for our podcast, the next you'll be securing keynote speakers, writing programme copy or running a world-class event from backstage.

About you

You'll probably have:

  • Around 3–5 years' experience producing high-quality B2B conferences or executive events
  • Experience securing senior-level speakers and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent research skills and genuine curiosity about business, leadership and retail
  • Outstanding written communication and copywriting skills
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience collaborating with commercial, marketing and sales teams
  • Confidence working with senior executives
  • A collaborative, positive and proactive approach

We'd especially love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience producing retail or technology conferences
  • An interest in global retail and consumer trends
  • Experience using HubSpot or similar marketing platforms
  • Podcast, interview or moderation experience
  • Experience managing agencies or external suppliers
