London (Hybrid – 2 days a week in the office) At World of Books, we’re on a mission to become the Planet’s Bookstore. Founded in 2002, our purpose is simple but powerful: encourage recycling, minimise waste, and give books a second life. Today, we’re the world’s largest seller of used books, serving millions of customers across 190+ countries and proudly operating as a certified B-Corp. With offices in the UK, US and Hungary, and a team of 1,000+ people, we’re driven by technology, data and a shared commitment to doing good for the planet and society.

About the role: We’re looking for a Pricing Analyst to play a key role in shaping and enabling our pricing strategy across buying and selling. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role at the heart of our analytics capability, supporting the next stage of World of Books’ growth. You’ll initially work with our current pricing systems, trialing and analysing pricing decisions, before evolving into a key contributor to our new pricing platform, with a strong focus on simulations and their impact on commercial performance. You’ll also be a core member of our cross-company Pricing Squad, partnering with Commercial, Operations, Product, Tech and Analytics to drive data-led pricing decisions.

What you’ll be doing as a Pricing Analyst:

  • Lead analytics initiatives end-to-end: from data building and validation, through analysis and reporting, to clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Build, own and maintain reporting and metrics that stakeholders genuinely use.
  • Analyse complex datasets to inform strategic decisions and size opportunities.
  • Test and challenge assumptions and hypotheses.
  • Understand performance drivers and pricing simulations.
  • Design, execute and evaluate trials, including EDA, ASIN selection, readouts and documentation.
  • Apply robust statistical and analytical methods across all work.
  • Communicate insights clearly, translating complex analysis into commercial impact.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Tech and senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Automate recurring analysis to free up time for high-value problem solving.
  • Contribute to wider analytics and data science initiatives and continuously raise the bar for quality and rigour.

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in analytics, ideally within eCommerce or marketplace environments.
  • Strong SQL skills (Google Cloud environment), with confidence querying raw data and debugging code.
  • Experience working with large datasets.
  • BI and visualisation experience (Tableau, Power BI or Looker) with a focus on stakeholder-friendly dashboards.
  • Some experience with Python or R (nice to have: Vertex AI).
  • Proven analytics experience, including root cause and deep-dive analysis, funnel and drop-off analysis.
  • Bonus skills (nice to have): Customer segmentation, LTV forecasting, cohort and survival analysis, predictive analytics (regression, classification, time series).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity in a fast-evolving environment.

What success looks like in your first 12 months:

  • Delivering reporting and analytics that directly enable or drive business value.
  • Stakeholders confidently using insights to make measurable improvements.
  • Clear prioritisation aligned to business needs and value.
  • Contributions to improving analytics maturity across the business (e.g. standardisation, documentation, harmonisation).

Why World of Books?

  • Purpose-driven mission with real environmental impact.
  • Data and technology at the heart of decision-making.
  • Opportunity to shape pricing strategy at scale.
  • Collaborative, inclusive culture within a certified B-Corp.
  • Hybrid working and a growing, international footprint.

If you’re passionate about data, pricing, and using analytics to make a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you.
