Position: Aviation Refuelling Operator
Location: Luton, UK - 6 months Fixed Term Contract

We are looking for a dedicated Aviation Refuelling Operator to ensure the smooth handling, storage, and movement of aviation products. Position Summary: As an Aviation Refuelling Operator, you will operate to the highest standards of Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) compliance. You will be responsible for the safe handling, storage, and movement of aviation products, including into-plane refuelling. Your role will involve maintaining accurate records, implementing emergency procedures, and providing top-notch customer service.
Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Compliance: Operate to the highest standards of SSHE compliance, proactively assessing, identifying, and reporting SSHE-related matters or incidents.
  • Operational Standards: Comply with and maintain the integrity of all Company safety and operational standards, following the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all activities.
  • Product Handling: Safely handle, store, and move aviation products, ensuring all operations meet Company quality control standards.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately document all stock movements and sales, maintaining necessary records on refuelling and product quality activity.
  • Emergency Procedures: Operate correct emergency procedures in the event of incidents, ensuring swift and effective response.
  • Customer Service: Act as the first point of contact with customers, maintaining the highest standard of customer service levels.
  • Training & Competency: Participate in training and maintain competency in all procedures associated with aviation product handling and into-plane refuelling operations.
  • Scheduling: Schedule work to ensure refuelling is completed on time, assisting with the planning of vehicles and manpower.
  • Data Management: Input all necessary data into the AVR computer system to control sales transactions and product movement, including end-of-day reconciliation.
  • Special Responsibilities: Undertake special responsibilities when trained, completing annual training in TEAM and SMITHS.
Requirements
  • Driving License: LGV 1 (C+E) driving license.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years current LGV Class 1 driving experience.
  • Decision Making: Strong decision-making skills with strict HSE standards and guidelines.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team, applying initiative and effective problem-solving.
  • Technical Skills: Basic numeracy, data input, and IT skills.
  • Communication: Effective interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Flexibility: Flexible approach to work, including overtime working.
  • Manual Handling: Experience in manual handling.
  • Safety Mindset: Strong values around health and safety.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management and self-organization skills.
  • Compliance: Working to external legislative and authority requirements.
