We are looking for a volunteer image editor and curator to add images to the encyclopedia on a regular basis and to edit image submissions from contributors, ensuring these match our Style Guide and comply with copyright laws.

Your work will help ensure articles are complete and engaging, helping drive access to high-quality history education worldwide.

What are we looking for? You are able to identify striking, accurate images which complement our text content, convey historically accurate information, and include attribution notes that respect copyright requirements.

This position is a volunteer role; you will not get paid for your work. If you can communicate well and you are able to devote at least five hours per week to this position, we’d like to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Find and upload striking images relevant to forthcoming content on the encyclopedia.
  • Edit image and image gallery submissions made by contributors to check they comply with our Style Guide.
  • Expand the current list of image sources used by editors.
  • Encourage photographers to contribute their images to the encyclopedia.
Requirements
  • You are able to commit at least 5 hours per week to this position.
